A group of students from both Priory and Worle Community Schools have come together to develop a new project which will focus on developing the skills and talents that the students need to become journalists. The group meet at the Big Worle Hub on Monday afternoons, where they are supported by teaching staff from both schools and by local professional journalists. Their mission is to seek out Community Champions from around the local area and to share these stories with the wider community using a variety of media. The Big Worle Partnership is happy to support this exciting and innovative project. The group have been awarded some development funding by the partnership and have purchased ten iPads and keyboards which they will be using to write stories, take photos and create videos.
We are also very grateful to the team at Bristol International Airport who funded the purchase of a Smart TV for the project, and students are pictured here with the PR Director who paid the project a visit early in 2017.
